Family Resource Center

ENF operates a Family Resource Center in the Oncology/Hematology Unit on the second floor of the Acute Care Pavillion, Family Room #2111 inside Carley’s Magical Garden.  In this center, we offer a variety of resources to inform and empower families who are affected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses. We help families access information on housing, employment, financial aid, cancer treatment information, and other forms of assistance. We are there to help them navigate this unknown territory and to assist them with their immediate needs. Our computer lab with Internet access is available for the use of parents and adult family members (over 18 years) during our hours of operation. We also have a copier and fax machine.

Starting in 2014, coffee is available on Wednesdays and Fridays inside ENF’s Family Resource Center. Believe it or not, a small cup of coffee provides much needed comfort to many sleepless parents and siblings after long and stressful nights in the hospital. ENF is happy to contribute in any way we can to help children and their families!

Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday: 9:00am to 1:00pm

ENF is a proud partner of the Professional Alliance For Children, which provides free legal and financial advice to families caring for an ill child. This is a much needed service for ENF’s families and we thank the Professional Alliance for Children for helping out the families ENF serves!   http://kidsproalliance.org/

ENF would like thank Jim Dell of the Professional Alliance for Children for being such a great partner with us. Jim recalls a touching story about a father whose child had been denied Medi-Cal for her treatment. As soon as ENF learned about this family, we immediately sought the advice of the Alliance. ENF and the Alliance quickly coordinated a meeting with the father and the Alliance filed and emergency appeal of the Medi-Cal denial. “The Administrative Law Judge agreed with the Alliance that the child was a resident of California and therefore entitled to Medi-Cal. This successful appeal has enabled the child to continue her critical cancer treatments. This is a great example of what a team of caring collaborating organizations can do.” Thank you Jim and Professional Alliance for Children for all you do!!
